Dan is a seasoned executive with over 28 years of medical device experience, who has worked in small entrepreneurial companies, as well as Fortune 500 corporations. Prior to joining DFINE, Dan served as the President & CEO, and member of the Board of Directors, of BaroSense, Inc., a company focused on minimally invasive devices for the treatment of obesity. Prior to BaroSense, Dan served as the Vice President, Research and Development of RITA Medical Systems, leading the regulatory, clinical and R&D groups, pioneering advances in tumor ablation. RITA Medical Systems had a successful IPO in June of 2000. Before RITA Medical, Dan held the position of Worldwide Director, Research and Development for the Vascular Access Division of Johnson & Johnson Medical, Inc. Early in his career Dan held various engineering and management roles at Menlo Care, (acquired by Johnson & Johnson) and American Pharmaseal.
Dan currently sits on the Board of Directors for BaroNova, a clinical-stage medical-technology company developing endoscopically-delivered devices for the chronic treatment of obesity.
Dan holds a BSME from California Polytechnic State University and is the author of over 100 patents and patent applications in the medical device field.
